SAVVY CHESS

Chess camps are a unique opportunity to leap forward in chess skill in a short period of time while having fun in a social setting. One week of chess camp is equivalent to months of chess class in terms of material covered, and can boost a student from one level to the next. Camps often feature valuable special activities that are uncommon in a class or self-study setting like team chess exercises and training drills. Uninterrupted blocks of chess training can also help students make connections about chess logic that otherwise might go unnoticed. It’s also a great way to get to know classmates better and find training partners for the future.

Our camps are available in full-day or half-day one-week sessions from 9am to 5pm CST (see starting dates below). Morning camps run 9am to 1pm and afternoon camps run 1pm to 5pm, with a lunch break at 12-1pm. A snack break will be provided in the morning and afternoon. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch if they have dietary restrictions, otherwise pizza will be served. Please inform the head coach (Dr. Coach Robert) ahead of time if there are any medical concerns or otherwise to be aware of, we will do our best to accommodate.

Camp attendees can expect to come home well-practiced and with a load of training materials to track what they learned. We highly encourage students above the Beginner Chess level to play our Saturday Tournament right after the camp ends to tap into their new chess skills and good form from the week’s learning.
